I'm Living in Denial

Ok so... yesterday,Debbie asked everyone how tall they are. Now, this isn't something that I would've ever thought about asking, but it's seriously interesting. So I left my comment, and then I continued to check back throughout the day to see where I stood (haha, stood, height... am I the only one who thought that was funny?) compared to everyone else. I've got to tell you, I continue to be surprised by my non-average height. Now, I'm just over 5' tall, and I can acknowledge that most people are taller than me. My head wraps around that concept. Somehow I don't connect that with reality, though. I mean, if you put me in a room with somebody who's my height, I'll feel like I have to look down to look at them; stick me in a room with somebody who's 5'4", though, and I feel like they're my height. Is this normal? In fact, I often don't realize that my friends are taller than me until I see a picture of me with them. Exhibit A...
From spare time

Until I saw this picture, I didn't realize that I wasn't the same height as everybody else. Is that normal? Does anybody else have this problem? Just curious.

ha ha, my problem is that I think I am thinner than I really am. I usually hide behind others in pictures and sometimes when I am not hidden, I seem my curvy hips and think... really they are that curvy? Thankfully my body was built for my husband and not for me. He loves them, I don't. I would rather have it that way though than reversed.

You are too funny! I've had the same experience....I am surprised at how short I look in pictures!

I'm only 5'2" myself....I'd always dreamed of being 5'5"...for some reason that number just seemed perfect to me!!!

Have a great weekend!!

I agree with Julie... I know how tall I am... I just never seem to realize how BIG I am until I see the pictures... Sigh***
Very cute shot!

I have this problem..and I always hate how I look compared to how cute everyone else is!!!
I'm just about 5'4" but my husband is 6'2"...go figure!! I know I'm shorter, but it's those group gal pictures that make me feel really short. Although my brother-in-law's current gf(soon to be fiance I think) is under 5 feet...now that's short, I wouldn't want to be that short!

oh yes. but mine is opposite. i am the tallest one in the group. always. i am 5'9 and always wearing heels, which adds another few inches. luckily, i am married to a 6'3 man, so i can always wear anything i want and still be shorter than him.

growing up in high school, i always watned to be 5'3. shorter seemed cooler to me, than the 5'8 bean pole. guys didn't date those.

I'm a few inches taller than you (5'3"), but I generally only notice my shortness when I'm going to reach for something that someone else can get no problem (that I feel is the same height as me) but I can't.

It's like that with me, except that everyone else thinks I'm much taller than I am. I know exactly how tall I am, but I guess I give off taller person vibes because all my friends are shocked when I say I'm just 5'3.

I wasn't even looking at your height, or lack thereof...'cause that sassy scarf swathed about your waist (wooo--say that 3 times fast!) is ADORABLE! You are too cute.

I am 5'10" so I am taller than just about everyone I know, and I am very self conscious of that. It bothers me sometimes, but I see it as a plus in most areas. Unless (in my single days) I met a cute guy and he was 2 inches shorter than me LOL! :D

i'm barely 5'2"...but wear heals a lot. a lot of my friends at my last station were my height but i always seemed taller b/c of my heals...except for 1 of my friends...she was taller than my husband! but most of the time i'm definitely the shorty!
